Our story begins in the stunning lobby, where a single door set in a hand-carved mahogany frame welcomes you to the heart of Coconut Grove.
Glide past the Gaudi-inspired façade and into a realm of Old World elegance. From there, rich Amazon ironwood, sculptured plaster ceilings crafted by artisans from around the globe and stained-glass windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany are the perfect complement to our thoughtful and intuitive service.
You will see sculptured birds, which represent our hotel brand, around the hotel which were also created by Treister specifically for the hotel. The ceramic tiles featured around the hotel are from Valencia Spain, and is the same tile that the Moors used in creating the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain. The unique changing textures or shadows, light, reflections from the pools, ceramics, and sculptures come together to provide a sensory experience unique to The Mayfair at Coconut Grove.
Guest room doors feature hand-carved accents from Honduras and Guatemala, accompanied by a cast brass door knocker and peep-hole created in Taiwan. Every guest room in the hotel is assigned a floral or a Florida bird name, paying homage to its ‘home’ in Miami, Florida.
